Far North Coast Wound Services (FNCWS) is a mobile community nursing service caring for people in their own homes across the Northern Rivers. We started in wound and vascular care and now also provide chronic and complex health nursing. We're growing, and we're looking for a casual Registered Nurse based around Casino and Lismore to join our small, supportive team.

This isn't a busy ward where you rush from bed to bed. You'll have time to assess properly, get to know your patients, and work alongside experienced Clinical Nurse Consultants who want to help you build your skills.

What we do

Our team provides a wide range of community nursing care, including:

- Acute and chronic wound management, including complex and non-healing wounds

- Vascular assessment (Doppler, ABI/TBI) and compression therapy

- Urinary catheter care and changes (IDC and SPC)

- Complex bowel care

- Chronic disease support and health education

What you'll be doing

- Assessing, planning and delivering care for clients with wound, chronic and complex health needs

- Performing evidence-based wound care, compression, catheter care and other nursing procedures

- Teaching clients, families and carers how to manage their health at home

- Working closely with Surgeons, GPs, allied health, support coordinators and care providers

- Spotting changes in a client's condition early and escalating appropriately

- Keeping clear, accurate clinical records

- Helping us keep improving the care we provide

About you

- You're an RN who enjoys hands-on community nursing, or wants to

- You're confident working independently and know when to ask for help

- You're a explicit communicator who puts clients and families at ease

- You're reliable, organised and comfortable with casual work

- Experience in wounds, catheters, community, aged care or GP practice is a bonus, but we'll support you to learn

What you'll need to start

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no conditions)

- Current First Aid and CPR certificates

- A National Police Check (less than 12 months old)

- An NDIS Worker Screening Check

- A NSW Working With Children Check

- A current, full Australian driver's licence

- A reliable, registered and insured vehicle for home visits

- The right to work in Australia
