- Key Responsibilities
- Provides onsite technical support and hardware repair services across Cairns and surrounding areas.
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs laptops, desktops, and related IT hardware.
- Replaces hardware components including motherboards, screens, keyboards, batteries, SSDs, memory, and other field-replaceable parts.
- Performs hardware diagnostics, BIOS and firmware updates, system testing, and validation activities.
- Manages assigned service calls, parts inventory, schedules, and travel requirements efficiently.
- Completes service documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
- Works independently while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and professionalism.
- Communicates effectively with customers, service delivery teams, and technical support groups.
- Follows customer-specific processes, safety requirements, and service level commitments.
- Meets SLA targets while delivering a positive customer experience.
- Key Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.
- Technical certification,
Associate Degree, or relevant vocational training preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in computer hardware repair, field services, desktop support, or technical support environments.
- Robust troubleshooting and fault-finding skills across laptop and desktop hardware.
- Experience installing and replacing hardware components such as motherboards, screens, batteries, keyboards, SSDs, and memory modules.
- Good understanding of Windows operating systems and desktop computing environments.
- Experience working with Dell, Lenovo, or other major OEM hardware platforms is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple onsite service requests.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence and willingness to travel throughout the Cairns region.
- OEM or manufacturer certifications are advantageous.
