PDA Surveyors, Engineers & Planners (PDA) are looking to recruit an experience Senior Surveyor or Surveyor (pending experience) for our Hobart head office!

The Opportunity

Our southern team is looking for a Senior Surveyor or competent Surveyor with a passion an interest in civil construction.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is a team player and enjoys the challenge of working in a fast-paced yet supportive setting, delivering work of exceptional quality.

We have quite a number of exciting construction projects we are currently involved with and aim to provide a good balance of field and office work to all our surveyors.

About You

You will be required to undertake duties such as:

- Project management of jobs including; client communication, scheduling, time management, budgeting, planning, quoting and invoicing (relative to candidates experience)

- Achieve personal and project KPIs

- Field surveying on a range of unique and diverse projects such as upcoming major construction projects including roads, dams and pipeline setout, structural concrete setout, setting up base stations and GPS guided machines, laser scanning, hydrographic and aerial surveys

- Competent office processing of surveys, preparation and checking of survey models, volume calculations, machine control models and detail surveys





- Drafting of survey plans and completing relevant quality assurance checks

Requirements
It is expected that you will exhibit the following key attributes and experience:

- A relevant tertiary qualification in Surveying (preferably in Australia)

- 3-5+ years' relevant experience (preferably in Australia)

- A proven ability to work within a team, be self-motivated and be able to assist on multiple projects concurrently with limited supervision and competent time management

- Project management of assigned projects (initially with supervision/training) which can include client communication, scheduling, project and time management

- Preparation of files and data for survey and processing of collected data including quality assurance and final plan deliverables

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and be capable of liaising with a wide range of stakeholders including the client, sub-consultants and sub-contractors

It would be advantageous to have some experience with the following Surveying equipment and software:

- Trimble Total Stations and GNSS Receivers

- Trimble Business Centre software

- AutoCAD or BricsCAD drafting software
