ALG Talent has an exciting chance for an experienced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician to join a highly skilled aviation maintenance environment supporting the C-27J aircraft platform at RAAF Base Amberley.

This position will suit an experienced NDT professional with an aviation or aerospace background who is looking to work within a technically demanding defence aviation environment. You will be responsible for conducting, evaluating and reporting NDT inspections while supporting engineering and maintenance personnel with specialist technical advice.

The Role

As an NDT Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out Non-Destructive Testing and inspection activities on aircraft, aeronautical products and associated ground support equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Conducting Non-Destructive Testing and inspections on the C-27J aircraft platform and associated equipment
- Performing inspections as directed by approved engineering instructions, OEM requirements and relevant technical documentation
- Interpreting and evaluating inspection results against applicable acceptance and rejection criteria
- Accurately documenting inspection results and preparing technical reports to a high standard
- Ensuring NDT equipment remains serviceable and appropriately calibrated
- Providing specialist NDT technical advice and guidance to engineering personnel
- Completing required annual NDT skills and knowledge assessments
- Complying with relevant radiation safety requirements, assessments, monitoring and recording requirements
- Maintaining compliance with workplace health and safety requirements




- Supporting continuous improvement and operational efficiencies within the maintenance environment

About You

To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:

- NDT Level 2 certification
- Certification under National Aerospace Standard NAS410 and/or European Standard EN4179
- Experience conducting NDT inspections within an aviation, aerospace or defence maintenance environment
- Strong knowledge of NDT inspection techniques and their limitations
- Ability to interpret technical instructions, engineering documentation and inspection criteria
- Strong technical reporting and documentation skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
- Ability to work effectively with aircraft maintenance and engineering personnel
- Ability to maintain required NDT competencies and successfully complete ongoing assessments
