About the Role
We are currently seeking Support Workers to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term, part-time basis, providing quality, person-centred support to clients across Maryborough, Hervey Bay and surrounding suburbs.

You will work across a range of settings, including clinics, homes, schools and community environments, supporting children, young people and families who may have experienced trauma or challenging life circumstances.
This is a therapeutic and support-focused role where you will work closely with practitioners and families to provide practical strategies and support around children's behaviours and emotional wellbeing.

Position Details

- Employment: Fixed Term – Part-Time, 6 months
- Location: Maryborough, Hervey Bay and surrounding suburbs
- Hours: 30 hours per week
- Days: 4 days per week, Monday to Friday
- Hours of work: Between 8:30am and 4:30pm

Key Responsibilities
As a Support Worker, you will:

- Provide practical, person-centred support to children, young people and families
- Transport clients to appointments, activities and community events
- Support and co-facilitate groups, including psychoeducation and therapeutic-based programs




- Work collaboratively with practitioners and the wider support team
- Participate in community events and activities
- Support parents and carers to develop practical strategies to assist with children's behaviours
- Provide support within family homes, working alongside parents and carers to implement strategies that support positive behaviours and outcomes
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children, young people and families
- Work in schools, homes, clinics and community settings as required
- Be flexible and assist the team with additional tasks or provide extra support when required during your rostered hours

About You
We are looking for someone who is compassionate, reliable, flexible and passionate about supporting children, young people and families.

You will have:

- Experience working as a Youth Worker, Support Worker or in a similar environment OR Be currently studying a Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or a related discipline
- A current Australian driver's licence
- A current Queensland Working with Children Blue Card
- A current Police Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills




- The ability to work collaboratively with practitioners, families and other professionals
- A genuine interest in trauma-informed and person-centred support
