Your new role
As an APS6 Finance Officer, you'll provide high-quality financial management and treasury support while ensuring strong financial governance and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing end-to-end accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, receipting and debt management
- Administering revenue contracts and monitoring key milestones, renewals and compliance requirements
- Preparing bank, general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
- Processing accounting journals and supporting month-end and year-end reporting activities
- Monitoring cash balances and preparing cash flow forecasts
- Supporting treasury functions, including investment administration and reporting
- Assisting with internal and external audits by providing reconciliations and supporting documentation
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and finance process enhancements
This position is based in Canberra, ACT and offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of finance activities within a supportive team environment.
What you'll need to succeed
- Must be an Australian citizen with a minimum of Baseline security clearance
To be successful in this APS6 Finance Officer position, you'll bring:
- Previous experience in financial administration, accounts receivable, treasury or financial reporting
- Strong reconciliation, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate outcomes
- An understanding of financial controls, governance, compliance and audit requirements
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience using financial systems and an interest in process improvement and automation
- Previous APS or government experience will be highly regarded but is not essential
