About the Opportunity

The ASC Work Health, Safety & Environment Traineeship is a two-year fixed-term program that combines practical on-the-job training with formal study towards a Certificate 4 in Work Health, Safety & Setting

Working alongside experienced WHSE professionals, you'll gain hands-on experience across workplace health, safety and environmental activities. You'll support a range of initiatives including safety compliance, hazard identification and risk management, incident reporting, and continuous improvement activities, while building practical skills and knowledge in a complex operational environment.

By the end of the program, you'll have developed the skills, knowledge and nationally recognised qualification needed to start a career in WHSE.

Your responsibilities

- Support WHSE activities across corporate and operational areas, helping to promote safe work practices across the business.

- Assist with WHSE compliance processes to ensure alignment with company policies, legislative requirements and industry standards.

- Contribute to the identification, reporting and management of workplace hazards and risks.

- Maintain WHSE records,



including safety inspections, audits and incident reports.

- Provide administrative support through documentation, reporting and data management activities.

- Complete a Certificate 4 in Work Health & Safety while gaining valuable on-the-job experience.

About you

- Desire and interest to grow a career in WHSE.

- Commitment to obtain Certificate 4 in Work, Health, Safety & Environment, while receiving on the job training.

- Sound verbal and communication skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (required) and a good level of computer literacy.

- Good organisational skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritise work effectively.

- Ability to work well in a team setting and collaborate with various stakeholders.

Eligibility

- Not currently undertaking or completed, BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety

- Not in a current Contract of Training.

- White Card or willingness to obtain.

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to Baseline. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
