Protex Water Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and technically capable Production and Plant Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional to contribute to the manufacture and delivery of high-quality water treatment, pumping and related engineered systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and improving manufacturing activities, plant equipment and production processes to support safe, reliable and efficient operations. The role will work closely with engineering, production, maintenance and project teams to ensure equipment, machinery and manufacturing processes operate effectively and consistently meet required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, coordinate and oversee manufacturing and production activities to support efficient workflow, product quality and timely completion of projects.
- Analyse production processes, plant layouts, machinery and equipment to identify opportunities for improved productivity, efficiency and reliability.
- Develop and implement engineering solutions, production methods and process improvements to optimise manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate the installation, modification, testing, commissioning and ongoing performance of plant machinery, equipment and production systems.
- Monitor plant and equipment performance, investigate operational issues and implement preventative and corrective measures to minimise downtime.
- Work closely with engineering, production, maintenance and project teams to ensure manufactured systems meet technical specifications, quality requirements and project objectives.




- Ensure production activities, machinery and plant operations comply with applicable workplace health and safety, environmental, quality and company requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline.
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in production engineering, plant engineering, manufacturing engineering or a closely related engineering role.
- Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes, production systems, industrial plant, machinery and equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in production planning, process improvement, equipment performance and preventative maintenance.
- Ability to analyse production and plant issues, identify root causes and develop practical engineering solutions.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, manufacturing documentation and operational information.
- Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills with a commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.
