Wilmar Sugar & Renewables is seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanical Fitter to join our Mobile Services team at Proserpine Mill in the beautiful Whitsunday Region.

This is more than just another workshop job. You'll work on a diverse range of diesel-powered mobile plant and locomotives that play a critical role in one of Australia's largest agricultural and renewable energy operations.

About the Role

As a Heavy Diesel Mechanical Fitter, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting our fleet of locomotives, mobile plant, and associated equipment to ensure protected and reliable operations.

Working within a highly skilled maintenance team, you'll have the opportunity to apply your trade across a wide range of equipment while developing new skills in a unique industrial environment.

Employment Conditions

- Permanent full-time position
- Crushing Season (June to December): Night shift roster
- Maintenance Season (January to May): Day work roster

About You

You are a trade-qualified Diesel Fitter who takes pride in quality workmanship, values safety, and enjoys solving mechanical problems.

Essential Requirements

- Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Diesel Fitter) or equivalent trade qualification
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology will also be considered
- Demonstrated experience servicing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and heavy mobile equipment
- Strong commitment to workplace safety




- Ability to work effectively within a team environment

Highly Regarded Skills & Licences

While not essential, experience or licences in the following areas will be advantageous:

- Hydraulics
- Forklift Licence
- Dogging Licence
- Overhead Crane Licence
- Confined Space Entry
- Working at Heights
- Construction White Card
- Welding and fabrication experience
