Masonic Care WA is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead and support the catering team at Howard Solomon Residential Estate in Ferndale.

The Role

As Head Chef, you will lead the kitchen team and prepare high-quality, nutritious and appetising meals that meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences.

In this role, you will:

- Prepare meals that meet individual dietary requirements, including allergies, texture-modified meals and purees.

- Plan seasonal menus in consultation with residents and the care team.

- Lead, motivate and support kitchen hands and service assistants.

- Maintain food safety, hygiene, HACCP, housekeeping and workplace health and safety standards.

- Manage stock levels, weekly stocktakes, ordering and kitchen records.

- Work collaboratively with nursing, care and other team members to support residents’ nutritional needs.

What we're looking for





We are seeking a self-motivated chef who can confidently lead a team and manage the day-to-day demands of a dynamic aged care kitchen.

You will bring:

· Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent, with at least two years’ experience as a qualified chef, preferably in aged care.

· Experience with special dietary and texture-modified meals.

· Ability to lead, supervise and support a kitchen team.

· Sound knowledge of food safety, HACCP, workplace safety and the Aged Care Quality Standards.

· Good communication, organisational and team leadership skills.

· A genuine commitment to quality food and a positive dining experience.

Additional requirements
