QLS has a permanent full-time opportunity for a Senior Digital Journalist to join our Digital & Content team. The Digital & Content team is responsible for strategic communications, digital publishing, and delivering news, insights and thought leadership that support QLS priorities and strengthen engagement across members, the legal profession and the wider community. Using a digital-first approach complemented by flagship print publications, the team combines editorial excellence, content governance and strategic communications to keep QLS a trusted, relevant and influential voice for the legal profession.

The Senior Digital Journalist plays a key role in creating and delivering high-quality content that informs, engages and adds value to QLS members and the broader legal profession, combining journalism, storytelling and audience engagement across a range of digital platforms and formats.

In this role you will:

- Research, write, edit and publish engaging news, features, profiles and thought leadership content for Proctor Online and other QLS channels.
- Generate original story ideas and identify emerging issues, trends and opportunities relevant to the legal profession.
- Produce and adapt compelling content across multiple formats, including written articles, video, audio, photography and social media.
- Build and maintain relationships with members, contributors, the judiciary, courts, government and other stakeholders to identify story opportunities.
- Apply SEO, audience insights and analytics to monitor and improve content reach, engagement and performance.

Ideally you will have the following:

- Qualifications in Journalism, Communications or a related discipline.




- Experience in journalism, digital publishing or content production, including research, writing, editing and publishing across a range of digital channels and formats.
- Exceptional writing, interviewing and storytelling skills, with robust editorial judgement and sub-editing skills.
- Experience producing content across multiple formats, including written, video, audio, photography, social and digital channels, using content management systems such as WordPress.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
