The opportunity:

RSGx is supporting our client to deliver a major urea manufacturing project in Western Australia. Once complete, the facility will be the largest in Australia and among the largest globally, incorporating industry-leading, more sustainable production processes. The project is expected to generate around 2,000 jobs during construction and deliver lasting benefits to the local community through careers, training, and business opportunities

We are seeking a number of qualified and experienced Electrical Commissioning Technicians. Previous experience working FIFO in Mining, Construction or Project based environments will be highly regarded.
These positions will support the commissioning and start-up phase of the project, with a focus on instrumentation, control systems, loop checking, testing, calibration and functional verification
Daily duties:

The Electrical Commissioning Technician will be responsible for the testing, verification, fault finding and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment throughout the project.

- Undertake instrumentation pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Test and verify LV electrical installations and equipment.
- Complete point-to-point testing and cable verification.
- Perform insulation resistance, continuity, polarity and earth continuity testing.
- Test and commission switchboards, MCCs, distribution boards and associated equipment.
- Conduct motor testing, rotation checks and functional testing.
- Assist with electrical energisation activities.




- Fault find and rectify electrical issues identified during commissioning.
- Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, cable schedules and termination schedules.
- Complete commissioning documentation, ITRs and test sheets.
- Identify and close out commissioning punch-list items.
- Verify completed construction works prior to commissioning.
- Complete red-line/mark-up documentation where required.
- Work under project permit-to-work, isolation and LOTO systems.
- Liaise with commissioning engineers, supervisors and other disciplines.
- Participate in pre-starts, toolbox meetings and safety activities.
- Maintain a high standard of safety, quality and housekeeping.

Essential qualifications/tickets:
Ideally 5+ years post-trade electrical experience, with demonstrated experience in:

- Industrial electrical construction
- Pre-commissioning and commissioning Electrical testing and fault finding
- Switchboards and MCCs Motors and electrical equipment
- Cable testing and verification
- Electrical drawings and schematics
- Commissioning documentation LOTO and permit-to-work environments

We are specifically looking for electricians with commissioning experience rather than candidates whose experience is primarily limited to construction installation
