An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at Palm Beach Surf Club, one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic beachfront venues.

Voted Best Club in Queensland, Palm Beach Surf Club has a strong local following, loyal membership base and an enviable location overlooking the ocean. We’re looking for a talented Sous Chef who thrives in a busy kitchen, enjoys being part of a strong team and takes pride in consistently delivering quality food.

Working closely with our Head Chef, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day operation of our high-volume kitchen, supporting the team and helping us continue to develop and improve our food offering.

About the Role

As Sous Chef, you will:

- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day operation of a busy, high-volume kitchen

- Lead and support the kitchen team during service

- Prepare and cook quality food consistently to menu specifications and recipes

- Help maintain high standards of presentation, quality and consistency

- Assist with stock control, ordering, preparation and kitchen organisation

- Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and WHS standards

- Help train, mentor and develop junior members of the kitchen team

- Contribute to a positive, skilled and team-focused kitchen culture

- Remain calm, organised and hands-on during busy services

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

- Has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Sous Chef or similar senior kitchen role





- Holds a relevant cookery qualification

- Has experience working in a high-volume hospitality environment

- Is reliable, organised and self-motivated

- Is a strong team player with excellent communication skills

- Can confidently lead and support a team during busy services

- Takes pride in quality, consistency and presentation

- Has a strong understanding of food safety and safe work practices

- Is passionate about hospitality and delivering a great experience for our guests
