PeopleWise is partnering exclusively with a well-established South Australian manufacturer to recruit an experienced Quality Assurance Officer to join its Quality team.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, this is a hands-on role working directly within a busy meat processing environment, monitoring production processes, product quality, food safety and compliance.

The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting process and product quality monitoring throughout production
- Completing product and meat inspections
- Monitoring product and plant temperatures
- Checking weights, labelling and product quality
- Ensuring hygiene, food safety and quality requirements are maintained
- Conducting sampling and assisting with microbiological testing and trials
- Identifying and reporting quality issues and non-conformances
- Supporting corrective actions where deficiencies are identified
- Maintaining accurate QA records and documentation
- Working closely with Production, Operations and the Quality Manager
- Escalating maintenance issues that could impact product quality or safety
- Supporting compliance with WHS and PPE requirements
About You
We're looking for someone who is detail-focused, confident working on the production floor and comfortable addressing quality issues when standards aren't being met.
You'll ideally bring:
- Previous Quality Assurance, Quality Control or Food Safety experience
- Experience within meat processing, food manufacturing,
FMCG or a similar environment
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and quality requirements
- Experience with inspections, monitoring and product checks
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- Confidence identifying non-conformances and supporting corrective actions
- Positive communication and stakeholder skills
- Strong computer and systems skills
- A proactive, practical approach to problem solving
Experience with:
HACCP, GMP, microbiological sampling/testing, meat inspection or export-regulated food production will be highly regarded.
