The Role

Livingstone Shire Council is seeking an experienced payroll skilled who combines strong technical payroll knowledge with exceptional attention to detail and a customer-focused approach. You'll have experience delivering end-to-end payroll services, interpreting Awards, Certified Agreements and legislation, and providing accurate advice to employees and leaders.

What You Will Be Doing:

You'll be confident using payroll systems and Microsoft Office, enjoy solving problems, and have a continuous improvement mindset that helps drive efficiency and service excellence.

- Deliver end-to-end payroll processing, including employee onboarding, timesheets, leave transactions, payroll adjustments, terminations and payroll payments.
- Provide expert advice and support to employees and leaders on payroll matters, including the interpretation of Awards, Certified Agreements and Council policies.
- Maintain payroll records and systems, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, confidentiality and compliance with legislative requirements.
- Prepare and analyse payroll reports to support compliance, audits and organisational decision-making.





Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance payroll processes, systems, efficiency and the employee experience.

- Demonstrated experience delivering accurate end-to-end payroll services in a complex and fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, Awards and Certified Agreements, with the ability to interpret and apply them confidently.
- Exceptional attention to detail, numeracy skills and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Well-developed communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organisation.
