About the role

Shining Stars Childcare is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team on a full-time basis at our Brighton-Le-Sands NSW location. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the growth, development and wellbeing of young children in our care. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will create nurturing, safe and stimulating environments that foster learning and development in line with the Early Years Learning Framework. This position is fundamental to our mission of providing high-quality childcare and education that helps every child reach their potential.

Key responsibilities

- Develop and implement educational programs and activities that promote cognitive, physical, social and emotional development for children in your care

- Provide daily care routines including feeding, toileting, hygiene and rest time in a warm and supportive manner

- Create a safe, inclusive and welcoming learning environment that respects the diverse needs and backgrounds of all children

- Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues, fostering open communication and collaboration

- Observe and assess children's development, documenting progress and identifying opportunities for growth

- Support children's learning through play-based activities, exploration and problem-solving opportunities

- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports and developmental observations

- Adhere to all childcare legislation, regulations and service policies to ensure compliance and child safety

- Work collaboratively with the wider team to support the smooth operation of the service





- Respond to children's emotional and physical needs with patience, empathy and professionalism

What we're looking for

- Diploma in early Childood Education

- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

- Traineeships willing to learn are welcome to apply for a traineeship role

- Current First Aid Certificate

- Current Working With Children Check (WWC) clearance or the ability to obtain one

- National Police check

- Demonstrated understanding of child development and the Early Years Learning Framework

- Solid communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children and families

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support colleagues

- Experience creating inclusive, secure and stimulating learning environments

- Knowledge of health, safety and wellbeing practices in childcare settings

- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of children and families

- A genuine passion for early childhood education and supporting children's development

- Preferred experience working with diverse age groups and cultural backgrounds
