The Opportunity

World Gym Penrith is looking for an energetic, sales-focused and customer-driven Casual Receptionist to join our team.

This is a hands-on role combining retail sales, member service, Barbell Café and day-to-day club operations. You’ll be a key point of contact for members while taking ownership of the Pro Shop experience, helping members find the right products and contributing directly to the club’s retail performance.

A strong interest in fitness, training, supplements and sports nutrition is important, as you’ll be expected to build your product knowledge and confidently assist members with their purchases.

You’ll need to be available to work across a range of shifts, including 4:30am-10:30pm weekdays and 6am-6pm weekends & public holidays.

What You’ll Do

Drive Pro Shop Sales

- Work towards and achieve retail sales targets and KPIs

- Proactively engage with members and identify opportunities to recommend relevant products

- Develop strong knowledge of supplements, sports nutrition, apparel, lifting accessories and other Pro Shop products

- Confidently educate members on products and help them make informed purchasing decisions

- Build strong relationships with members and encourage repeat business

- Process sales accurately through the POS system

- Maintain a professional, engaging and high-performing retail environment

Member Service & Reception

- Welcome members and visitors and create a positive first impression

- Provide friendly, professional service and respond to member enquiries





- Answer phone calls and assist with general reception enquiries

- Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the front desk

- Build positive relationships with members and contribute to a welcoming club environment

Barbell Café

- Prepare shakes and coffees and provide friendly, efficient service

- Assist members with café enquiries and product selections

- Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming café environment

- Support café sales and presentation standards

Stock & Retail Operations

- Complete regular stocktakes and maintain accurate stock levels

- Assist with stock ordering and replenishment

- Receive and process incoming stock

- Monitor stock presentation, rotation, availability and expiry dates

- Identify low or slow-moving stock and communicate requirements to management

- Build and maintain attractive, well-presented retail displays

- Assist with purchase orders and general retail administration

Club Presentation

- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation across reception, retail, café and gym floor areas

- Assist with general club duties to ensure the facility is clean, organised and welcoming

- Take ownership of the small details that contribute to a great member experience

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

- Passionate about fitness, training and the gym environment

- Genuinely interested in supplements, sports nutrition and fitness products, with the willingness to continually develop your product knowledge

- Sales-driven and motivated by achieving targets and KPIs

- Confident engaging with members and recommending products based on their needs

- Experienced in retail, sales, hospitality or customer service

- Confident communicating with a wide range of people and building strong relationships

- Comfortable initiating conversations and proactively selling rather than waiting for customers to approach you

- Reliable,



organised and able to work effectively in a fast-paced setting

- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team

- Available to work across a range of shifts, including 4:30am-10:30pm weekdays and 6am-6pm weekends & public holidays.

- Professional, energetic and willing to get involved across all areas of the club

- Interested in developing your skills and building a career within the fitness industry

- Current First Aid and CPR certification
