Recreation Officers | Community & Fitness Programs
Pay Rate: $33.46 per hour plus Super
Hours of Work: Adhoc | Rostered Shifts between 6am – 10pm (Mon–Sun)
Pre Employment Checks: 2 x references, police check, WWCC, First Aid Certificate, CPR
Position is casual - Hours will vary between 10-20 hours (2-3 shifts per week), potentially more leading up to the current centre opening and when staff are on leave.
Our client, a leading local council, is seeking dynamic and motivated Recreation Officers to join their team in running social, cultural, educational and recreational programs, and helping ensure the smooth operation of community centres and venues.
Key accountabilities:
In liaison with the local manager, support the operations and program delivery by:
- Planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational programs to support social inclusion, connection and wellbeing.
- Maintaining excellent customer service relationships
- Undertaking a range of day-to-day and administrative duties to ensure the safe and effective operations of recreation facilities and programs.
Essential knowledge, skills and experience:
- Demonstrated experience with planning and delivery of recreational programs and events such as sporting competitions.
- Be available to work across multiple locations within the Local Government area over a 7-day roster, including regular weekends and evening shifts.
We are looking for candidates with:
- Experience working in a high-demand recreation operations are preferred.
- Able to work a spread of hours, working a roster that includes weekdays, weekends and nights
- Able to work across multiple locations within the Local Government area
- Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake relevant training
- Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain
- A current Police Check
