About the role

This is a casual position of 6 to 10 hours per week, ideally worked across a Tuesday and a Friday, moving to permanent part-time once we settle into a regular pattern. You'll be working in a brand-current system that we have set up ourselves. The software is Xero, Dext, Deputy scheduling, and Deputy payroll. This is supported by custom Gmail automation that already handles most of the repetitive data entries. Invoices flow in automatically, and daily banking largely posts itself. Your job is to run this system well: accurate payroll, a clean set of books, monthly reporting, and keeping the automated systems updated.

Key responsibilities

- Fortnightly payroll for around 30 staff in Deputy, including bonus calculations, quality checking and staff onboarding
- Xero file maintenance: reconciliations, scheduling bill payments, end-of-month journals, monthly financial reports, and BAS preparation
- PAYG and payroll tax lodgements
- Supporting the link between our point-of-sale system and Xero, including troubleshooting end-of-day banking
- Maintaining our Dext and email automation rules as suppliers change
- General finance administration: supplier communications, B2B invoicing and expense processing

About you

- Deep expertise in Xero with recent experience
- Payroll experience with Deputy familiarity a plus
- Strong accuracy and follow-through: you notice when something doesn't reconcile,



and you chase it down
- Genuine comfort with cloud tools and automation, and the confidence to maintain and improve them
- A professional, discreet approach to confidential financial information
- The ability to work effectively as part of a small team, and communication skills to work with our bank, accountants, and franchisor
- Detail-focused, self-directed bookkeeper who takes pride in a clean, accurate set of books and can work autonomously once trained
