The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The Project is owned by Harmony, a world-class gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua Recent Guinea. Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non-Process Infrastructure. Bechtel is providing these EPC services across all disciplines and functions for this exciting capital project.
- Minimum 3 years major construction / project experience, preferably in an industrial or mining environment.
- Construction White Card is a mandatory requirement for all Project site personnel
- Formworkers: Experience with construction and removal of temporary formwork for free form concrete pours, gap fill on scaffold around structure, and other temporary wooden structures.
- Steel Fixers: Knowledge in reinforcing structures, understanding engineered drawings to select and install correct size and number of reo-bars to be fitted and number of tie-ins to be fitted to each bar.
- Concreters: Experience in large concrete pours and finish for concrete structures and slabs. Ability to use specialised equipment such as vibrators,
helicopters and various trowels in creating the correct concrete finish, dependent on the engineering specification.
- Labourers: General cleaning and tidy of site, removing debris and excess materials from work areas, unloading of various materials and equipment delivered to work location, use of wheelbarrows, digging trenches, shoveling rubble and concrete, placing tools in preparation for use by skilled craft professionals. Physically fit to perform the mentioned tasks.
- Riggers: Must hold current HRWL in Rigging and Working at Heights certification. Demonstrates experience in inspecting and selecting rigging equipment, monitoring lift zones and advising direction to crane operator during lift operation. Good understanding of how to use chains, dunnage, chain blocks and bull rigging activities. Must be able to pass Verification of Competency in nominated rigging classification.

Remuneration - Details as per EA:
- 2:1 continuous roster, RDO accrued
- Locals can choose to work Monday - Friday or 2/1 roster
- 70 hour work week: Monday - Sunday
- Base rate + penalties
- $4.00 p/h (site allowance)
- Charter flights available from Brisbane or Townsville
Plus, the below accruals
- PIP - $110 p/w
- Severance - $170 p/w for each completed week of service
