Gundagai Meat Processors (GMP) is a family-owned lamb processor based in South Gundagai, NSW. We process around one million sheep and lambs a year for more than 70 export markets and employ around 350 people.

About the role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll own our weekly P&L; and inventory reporting, oversee Accounts Payable, and manage capital expenditure tracking. You'll also run month-end reconciliations and help with compliance reporting. This is a hands-on role with real visibility: your work goes directly to Management and the Senior Leadership Team.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and distribute the weekly P&L; and inventory reports, and investigate and explain variances.

- Identify opportunities for improvement in the weekly P&L; and inventory reporting process.

- Track, code and report on capital expenditure, and reconcile capex accounts.

- Complete month-end reconciliations, accruals and journal entries.

- Prepare compliance reporting, including BAS, FBT,



transaction levies and returns to government and industry bodies.

- Provide leave cover and support for Payroll and Accounts Receivable.

- Respond to ad hoc reporting and analysis requests, and look for ways to make our processes faster and more accurate.

- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive business outcomes.

About you

- A Certificate IV in Business or Accounting (or higher).

- Robust skills in MS Office, particularly Excel, and experience with finance systems.

- Accuracy with financial records and the ability to explain the numbers clearly to non-finance managers.

- Good time management, and the ability to prioritise and meet weekly and monthly deadlines under pressure.

- A collaborative, confident approach to working with people across the business.

- Experience in manufacturing, food processing or inventory-heavy environments will be highly regarded.
