About the role

As a seasoned Principal – Portfolio Management, you will champion the adoption of Lean Portfolio Management and scaled delivery practices, ensuring strategic investments remain aligned to organisational priorities. Through effective portfolio planning, governance, and performance insights, you will enable informed decision-making, optimise investment outcomes, and drive the successful realisation of strategic value across the enterprise.

What the role will involve

In this role, you will:

- Develop and maintain portfolio management capabilities including prioritisation, investment planning, workforce capacity planning, financial oversight, and benefits realisation.
- Establish and action a fit for purpose governance and assurance framework that enables effective decision-making, risk management, and delivery confidence.
- Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across organisational governance forums including steering committees, program boards, quarterly planning, and corporate planning cycles to guide and support delivery teams.
- Monitor portfolio performance through KPIs, OKRs, dashboards and reporting, providing actionable insights.
- Maintain visibility of portfolio risks, dependencies, issues and constraints, driving timely resolution and escalation.
- Support portfolio change, prioritisation, funding impacts and portfolio trade off analysis.
- Partner with business and delivery leaders to ensure strategic initiatives remain aligned to organisational objectives.
- Mentor and uplift portfolio management capability across platform teams through coaching and best practice sharing.
- Continuously improve portfolio management frameworks, processes, reporting, tools and methodologies to instil compliance,



consistency and continuous evolution of the PMO operating model.

Key skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Degree qualification in a relevant discipline (Business, Science, Engineering)
- Substantial experience leading and delivering complex transformation portfolios
- Demonstrated experience in portfolio governance, performance reporting, and financial management.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong stakeholder engagement capability.
- A leadership style that inspires collaboration, capability uplift, and high performance.
