An established, family-owned hospitality group is seeking experienced Duty Managers with a strong pub gaming background for high-performing venues on the NSW side of the Canberra region.

With strong community connections, a loyal workforce and a hospitality offering spanning food, beverage, gaming and events, this is a business where relationships matter. The business is continuing to grow and is looking for people who genuinely enjoy the gaming environment—managers who know their regulars, stay present on the floor and take pride in looking after every guest.

The Role – Lead the Room. Look After Your Guests.

This is a hands-on Duty Manager position with a clear focus on gaming room management and exceptional customer service.

You’ll be a visible, approachable presence throughout your shift, supporting the team and ensuring guests receive prompt, professional attention. While you’ll work within a broader pub operation, gaming is central to this role—not somewhere you occasionally cover between bar and bistro duties.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

- Oversee gaming room operations during your shift, maintaining service standards and a consistent presence on the floor.
- Build genuine relationships with guests, getting to know regulars and making new customers feel equally welcome.
- Support and guide the team, setting the example through clear communication, initiative and hands-on involvement.
- Respond to customer needs and concerns, keeping service attentive and professional while maintaining gaming compliance and venue procedures.

The priority is someone who wants to be in the room,



enjoys interacting with customers and understands that good service comes from consistent attention—not just responding when someone asks.

About You

You know pub gaming, and you genuinely enjoy the people side of hospitality.

You bring direct experience in pub gaming rooms and the confidence to take responsibility on shift. You understand the operation, but your strength is combining that knowledge with warm, attentive customer service.

You notice when someone is waiting, make yourself available and follow through. You’re comfortable giving direction, supporting colleagues and staying calm when service gets busy.

Just as importantly, you bring humility and a team-first approach. This is an established business with experienced people, so the ability to build trust, work alongside others and lead without ego matters.

Previous pub gaming experience is essential. These opportunities will particularly suit Sydney-based candidates ready to relocate, with availability for evening and late-night shifts.

Salary & Advantages

- $80,000 base salary + superannuation.
