APRA AMCOS is a member-owned music rights management organisation, positioned at the intersection of music, data and technology. We have more than 124,000 members who are songwriters, composers and music publishers. We license organisations to play, perform, copy or record our members’ music, and we distribute the royalties to our members.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised individual to join APRA AMCOS as a Reporting & Claim Administrator. In this role, you will help analyse, process and maintain sales and usage data from a range of sources including TV, radio, digital and other usage reports in the APRA AMCOS database. You will play an important role in ensuring music usage is accurately identified, claimed and processed, helping APRA AMCOS deliver royalties to members accurately and on time.
The role is based in our Ultimo office, which is on Gadigal land.
As a Reporting & Claim Administrator, your responsibilities will include:
- Manually match reported data, relating to usage of productions and programmes accurately and efficiently. Where data is not provided digitally, manually enter and match directly in system.
- Research titles and related information online to enhance matching outcomes, ensuring maximum data integrity is maintained within acceptable time frames.
- Identify any anomalies in auto-matched data advising Manager if patterns or consistent issues arise for potential to modify matching or processing parameters.
- Review and identify possible incorrect matches and transfer performances as required.
- Identify any inconsistent or irregular reporting from a data source advising Manager and other stakeholders as required.
- Assist in researching internal or external queries as it relates to usage reported from any data source,
gathering required information to provide an accurate response to member or internal/external staff.
- Collate, research, ingest and match reporting related to Print Distributions, ensuring data is processed to applicable timelines and thresholds.
- Keep an accurate record of data received, processed and outstanding ensuring deadlines are met and resource allocation can be flexible in peak periods.
- Assist in providing training, including creation/revision of procedures documents, where required or as directed by the Manager
- General administration and Data clean up tasks as requested by Manager or Senior Manager.
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
- Robust analytical skills with bigger picture understanding of processes, Music Industry and APRA’s role
- Technical understanding of key data processing elements: pre-processing/parsing, aggregation, validation, matching.
- Great understanding of Microsoft Tools (Excel, Word) to manipulate and present data.
- Advanced written and verbal communications skills, including ability to translate technical terminology to plain English.
- General knowledge of contemporary and popular music, broadcast, film & TV programmes.
