Coordinator Planning – Geospatial Intelligence, Clerk Grade 7/8, Wollongong

- Develop, implement and maintain Geospatial Intelligence System (GIS) data and intelligence across NSW SES with a focus supporting the NSW Flood Data Portal Accessibility Gateway and Viewer Project.
- Work in a volunteer-based agency supporting communities of NSW
- Fulltime, temporary role until October 2028
- Location: Wollongong at NSW SES State Headquarters, with consideration for Rhodes at Metro Headquarters for an exceptional applicant. Hybrid working arrangements available.

About the opportunity

Are you passionate about spatial data, analytics, and technology? This is an exciting chance to design and deliver innovative GIS solutions, undertake complex spatial analysis, and develop high-quality geospatial products that directly inform operational decision-making and community resilience outcomes. The NSW Flood Data Portal Accessibility Gateway and Viewer Project aims to improve the accessibility, management and visualisation of flood data across NSW.

Tasks include:

- Re-design NSW Flood Data Portal data pipelines and services
- Engage with stakeholders with technology redesign and User Acceptance Testing
- Build a State-wide Flood access viewer with ESRI ArcGIS technology stack
- Improve administration of the NSW Flood Data Portal and flood data management services

About you

To be successful in this role you will:





- hold relevant tertiary qualifications/ and or experience in GIS/spatial information, in particular ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro and FME;
- have prior experience in the administration and maintenance of GIS including ArcGIS portal administration, effective database management and advanced spatial analysis such as use of SQL server, FME or python;
- Understand project management principles in technology re-design, process improvement and optimising business outcomes; and
- Possess excellent presentation and written communication skills to lead the delivery of end user guidelines and stakeholder training.
