QLS has a permanent full-time opportunity for a Managing Editor, Digital & Content to join our Digital & Content team. The Digital & Content team is responsible for strategic communications, digital publishing, and delivering news, insights and thought leadership that support QLS priorities and strengthen engagement across members, the legal profession and the wider community. Using a digital-first approach complemented by flagship print publications, the team combines editorial excellence, content governance and strategic communications to keep QLS a trusted, relevant and influential voice for the legal profession.

The Managing Editor, Digital & Content leads strategic direction for QLS's publishing and editorial operations, overseeing the digital publishing ecosystem, including Proctor Online and Proctor Annual, to ensure QLS's platforms remain trusted, authoritative and relevant sources of news, insights and thought leadership for Queensland's legal profession.

In this role you will:

- Lead the development and execution of a digital-first editorial and content strategy, aligned with organisational priorities.
- Lead the editorial direction and production of Proctor Online and the Proctor Annual, overseeing the full content lifecycle from commissioning through to writing, editing, publishing and promotion.
- Create and commission compelling news, features, profiles and thought leadership content, bringing stories to life across written, video, audio and photographic formats.
- Drive audience growth and engagement by using data, analytics, audience insights and SEO to inform content decisions and expand distribution channels.
- Lead, coach and develop a talented editorial team, building capability in digital publishing, editorial excellence and content innovation.

Ideally you will have the following:





- Tertiary qualifications in Journalism, Communications or a related discipline.
- 7+ years' experience in senior editorial, journalism or digital content roles, including experience leading editorial teams and managing publishing operations.
- Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with demonstrated experience creating content across multiple formats, including written, video, audio and digital channels.
- Strong expertise in digital-first content strategy and multi-platform publishing, with the ability to use analytics, audience insights and SEO to drive content performance.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.
