The purpose of this role is to plan, coordinate and manage Wide Bay Burnett District's program of concept planning, options analysis, and business cases of nominated transport infrastructure projects to ensure completion in accordance with required timeframes, cost, quality and service standards.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Lead and manage the district's planning program, in liaison with the Manager (PPCM), advisors and other key stakeholders.
• Lead and manage the project planning team, consultants, and contractors to ensure all members are appropriately skilled and utilised, and to ensure deliverable, time and budgetary requirements are met.
• Prepare and deliver submissions and reports relating to planning and technical issues, and identify appropriate mitigation strategies to overcome problems or obstacles related to the project/s.
• Contribute to public consultation activities and ensure that effective liaison is undertaken with community, local governments, and other major stakeholders.
• Provide specialist advice to senior management on all aspects of the planning program and make technical presentations as required.
• Identify and harness the necessary internal and external expertise to deliver project requirements, including the selection, engagement, and procurement of consultants.
• Promote program and project management culture and manage the development and implementation of the total project plans in relation to integration, human resources, scope, communication, time, risk, cost procurement and quality.
• Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the program of works you will be responsible for and determine changes to processes with a view to obtaining continuous improvements in efficiency,



productivity and setting strategies.
• Ensure the application of all relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and quality of outcomes is maintained with respect to all phases of project delivery of transport infrastructure projects on the works program.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
• A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks. (If your qualification is from an overseas institution, the Australian assessment of qualification equivalence must also be provided)
• Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
• C Class driver's licence.
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.

Requirements of the role:
• Transport Planning: Demonstrated transport planning experience and an expert understanding of traffic and transport principles and establishes new processes to contribute to discipline knowledge and best practice.
• Leadership and Management: Demonstrated experience leading a diverse, multidisciplinary team undertaking planning and development of transport infrastructure projects. Ability to think critically and lead strategically.
• Program Management: Applies project principles and methodology to manage projects and achieve project and program outcomes.
• Relationships: Demonstrated experience building and sustaining relationships to enable the cooperative delivery of customer focused outcomes.
