We’re looking for a reliable, friendly and compassionate Disability Support Worker to provide one-on-one support to a young male with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI).

This is a great prospect for someone who enjoys building genuine connections, encouraging independence and helping someone get the most out of their therapy, community and social activities.
The successful applicant will provide personalised one-on-one support, with a focus on maintaining routine, building confidence and supporting participation in the community.

Your Support Will Include:

- Accompanying and assisting with therapy and medical appointments
- Supporting the client to work through therapy exercises and follow guidance from therapists
- Encouraging independence and confidence with day-to-day activities
- Supporting social and community activities, including visits to local venues, parks, cafés and other places of interest
- Helping create opportunities for meaningful social engagement and community participation
- Providing patience, encouragement and positive support
- Communicating appropriately with family, therapists and other members of the support team where required
- Maintaining a safe, respectful and supportive environment

We’re Looking For Someone Who Is:

- Patient, friendly, reliable and genuinely caring
- Comfortable working one-on-one and building a trusting relationship
- Positive and encouraging, with a good sense of humour
- Comfortable supporting therapy exercises and following instructions from therapists




- Interested in helping someone develop confidence and independence
- Ideally based locally to Port Noarlunga, with good knowledge of the surrounding area and ideas for suitable social, recreational and community activities
- Flexible and available for casual shifts
- Experienced in acquired brain injury, disability, rehabilitation or support work, highly regarded
- Someone with the right attitude, personality and genuine interest in supporting others

Shift Availability

Shifts are primarily during the day, with some weekend evening shifts available until approximately 8:00pm.

There is also an opportunity for the successful applicant to work alongside and support other clients across the Southern area, providing variety and the opportunity to build your experience.

Certificates & Licences Required:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or equivalent
- Australian Driver’s License and fully insured vehicle

Pay Rates
SCHADS Award B2.1 Casual Rates (before tax):

- Base hourly rate: $45.28
- Afternoon shift (shift ends between 8pm and midnight, Monday to Friday): $49.80
- Active Night shift (Finishes after midnight or starts before 6am, Monday to Friday): $50.71
- Saturday: $63.39
- Sunday: $81.50
- Public holiday: $99.61
