About the role

Join the City of Swan as a Senior Project Manager - Strategic Projects, leading the delivery of the City's most significant and high profile capital works projects.

This position is being offered of a full time fixed-term basis until 30 June 2030.

This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of major strategic infrastructure projects through the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through to procurement, construction, commissioning and operational handover.

Key projects include the completion and handover of the $145 million Swan Active Ellenbrook aquatic and recreation facility, the planning and delivery of the City's multi year Operations Centre and Depot Development, and other strategic projects that support the City's long term growth and service delivery.

Working closely with a dedicated Project Manager and as part of the City's broader Project Management team, you will provide leadership, governance and oversight to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with approved scope, budget, quality and timeframe objectives.

Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to;

- Lead the delivery of major strategic capital works and infrastructure projects from initiation through to handover and close-out.
- Manage project governance, procurement, contract administration, budgets, risks and stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinate consultants, contractors, government agencies and internal business units to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Provide high-quality reporting, advice and recommendations to senior management and key decision-makers.
- Mentor and support project team members while fostering strong collaboration across the Project Management Business Unit.
- Support operational readiness, commissioning and transition activities to ensure successful project handover.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following:

- Tertiary qualifications in project management, construction management, engineering, architecture or a related discipline, or substantial equivalent experience.




- Demonstrated experience delivering large, complex and high value building or infrastructure projects from planning and design through to construction and operational handover.
- Proven client side project management experience, including procurement, consultant and contractor management and contract administration.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build productive relationships across government, consultants, contractors and operational teams.
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence
- Construction Awareness – Safety Training Certificate
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required.

The salary for this position will be from $130,570.00 to $152,107.78 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
