About the Role

The Education and Engagement Advisor supports the development of education programs and material to deliver practical skills to improve understanding about the rights and obligations associated with democratic participation. The role focuses on creating new education content that recognises the local complexities of voting and regulatory requirements in NSW, as well as address significant gaps in general knowledge about civics.

The role is Ongoing Full-time position.

- Running and regulating elections
- Communicating and engaging with current and future voters, key NSW community stakeholders and NSW election participants; and
- Investigating possible offences and enforcing electoral and lobbying laws such as the Electoral Act 2017 and the Electoral Funding Act 2018.

Key knowledge, experience and essential requirements

As the successful candidate, you will have:

- Demonstrated communication skills and experience in the provision of high-quality learning and communication materials.




- Experience working within Communications or Education with demonstrable capability dealing with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working across a range of content channels including print, video, audio and digital platforms all requiring high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience working within a highly regulated environment with dynamic and ongoing legislative changes.
- Experience in successfully juggling multiple projects with non-negotiable deadlines.
- No affiliations with political parties, candidates, elected members, third-party campaigners, donors or registered lobbyists that could undermine the political impartiality of the Electoral Commission or that are otherwise inconsistent with its Political Neutrality Policy.
- Satisfactory criminal record check result.
