About The Role

We are seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our Engineering team. This entry-level role is a great opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience supporting the safe and efficient operation of Canberra’s light rail network.

Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you will support the Engineering and Maintenance team with asset management, routine duties and ad hoc tasks. Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting the Engineering and Maintenance team with assigned tasks to support the successful operation of the railway

- Assisting with infrastructure defect management, including assessment, evaluation, reporting, obtaining quotations where required, and supporting works through to completion

- Preparing checklists, reports and other documentation under the guidance of the Infrastructure Manager and Asset Engineer

- Maintaining data quality in the Enterprise Asset Management system, including investigating network faults and undertaking root-cause analysis to identify issues and support corrective actions

- Completing ad hoc tasks as required, seeking guidance where necessary and providing updates on progress or issues

- Assisting with the development and review of internal standards, procedures,



work instructions and other documentation

- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

- Adhering to, and suggesting improvements to, CMET practices, policies and procedures

- Actively participating in ongoing engineering and maintenance activities that support CMET’s operational goals

We’re Looking For Someone Who

- Holds an undergraduate degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Systems or a related discipline)

- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and documentation

- Has excellent organisation, planning, reporting, problem-solving and coordination skills

- Holds a current C class driver licence

- Desirable experience or knowledge includes:

- Rail infrastructure, asset standards and contemporary asset management practices

- Maintenance environments, asset management systems, and plant and equipment fleet maintenance

- Auditing compliance, reporting procedures and processes

- Consultation, facilitation, liaison and stakeholder engagement
