Senior Legal Counsel | Construction Disputes & Major Projects
We're currently seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join us for a career-enhancing opportunity with a globally recognised industry leader known for delivering complex, large scale projects and operating world-class assets.
This initial 6 to 12 month assignment offers the opportunity to work closely with legal, commercial and project stakeholders on a broad range of significant construction and infrastructure matters, with a particular focus on project claims, disputes and contentious issues arising on major projects.
Working as part of a highly regarded in-house legal team, you'll play a key role in supporting the business through complex project challenges, helping to manage risk, resolve disputes and deliver commercially pragmatic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with key stakeholders, you'll:
advise on complex construction and project-related claims, disputes and contentious matters;
support the management and resolution of contractor, subcontractor and project delivery disputes;
assist with dispute avoidance strategies and early issue resolution across major projects;
provide strategic legal advice on project risk, contractual entitlements and commercial outcomes;
review and advise on project documentation,



contract administration issues and dispute related correspondence; and
build strong relationships with stakeholders.
About You
To succeed in this role, you'll:
be an admitted lawyer with a minimum of 5 years' PQE;
have strong back-end construction and projects experience, including claims and contentious matters;
bring experience advising on major construction, infrastructure, energy, resources or engineering projects;
ideally possess front-end construction experience to complement your disputes background; and
be confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels within the business.
