The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd has commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site, with production projected of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. With a long life, the underground mine targets high quality coal, with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We currently have a number of opportunities for individuals looking to kick start their careers in the underground coal mining industry. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as a New to Industry Electrical Tradesperson. This is a fantastic opportunity for those new to the industry to bring your current trade skills and experience to develop valuable skills employing these qualifications in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop your skills with other experienced tradespeople in maintaining and repairing mining equipment
n
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a protected working environment
n




Develop competency working in the underground mining environment to allow you to work independently
n
Learn and apply industry-specific skills and
techniquesContribute
to the overall efficiency and productivity of mining operations
n
Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals
n
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
n
n
ABOUT YOU
n
To be successful in this role you will have:
n
n
Certificate of proficiency (Electrical)
n
A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
n
The ability to work in a physically demanding environment
n
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
n
A commitment to safety and environmental regulations
n
Willingness to work shiftwork
n
Be willing, and able, to undertake an Order 43 Medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
n
Prior experience working on underground mining equipment would be advantageous for all trade holders.
