A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a high-performing and collaborative team within a well-established, South Australian organisation.This role plays a key part in delivering accurate, compliant and timely payroll services across multiple entities, supporting a diverse and growing workforce.
Your new role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing and support the wider team with payroll operations and reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
End-to-end weekly and monthly payroll processing across multiple entities
Processing current starters, terminations, reimbursements and payroll adjustments
Interpreting awards, agreements and ensuring legislative compliance
Preparing termination calculations, leave reconciliations and back pay
Managing STP submissions, payroll journals and reporting requirements
Processing superannuation, payroll tax and statutory obligations
Responding to payroll queries and providing support to stakeholders
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within payroll




What you'll need to succeed
Minimum 5 years' experience in a payroll position
Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards and compliance
Proven experience delivering end-to-end payroll in a high-volume environment
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
Experience with systems such as UKG, MYOB or Xero will be highly regarded.
