Reporting to the State Manager, the Non-Ferrous Trading Manager is responsible for guiding the trading team and Branch teams in cost-effective, timely and profitable purchase and delivery of non-ferrous recyclable metal.
What you will be doing:
Deliver state intake targets
by acting on agreed KPIs and implementing a clear, measurable strategy to achieve them
Identify, prioritise and implement state wide improvement opportunities
ensuring effective execution through robust systems and processes
Manage a portfolio of existing accounts
while actively generating, qualifying, and converting new business opportunities to drive growth
Balance and prioritise workload
to achieve strong customer retention outcomes alongside new business development objectives
Maintain a structured customer engagement program
through regular face to face and/or call cycles with customers and prospects
Lead commercial activity
for assigned customers and opportunities, including negotiations, quoting, tendering and contract management within delegated authority
Partner with the trading team
to embed best practice across the state while demonstrating visible safety leadership in support of the Goal Zero strategy

What you will bring:
Previous experience in commodity purchasing
Tender preparation and contract negotiation
Metal product knowledge and recycling experience, desirable
Marketing qualifications advantageous
Demonstrated time management and project planning ability
Awareness of legislation – OHS, Quality, Environmental, ACCC, RTA and GST regulations




Excellent verbal and written communication skills
