AML Associate (ECDD / KYC) - Consulting

A specialist risk and compliance consulting firm is seeking an
AML Associate
to join its growing Financial Crime team. This is a hands-on role focused on
Enhanced Customer Due Diligence (ECDD), Know Your Customer (KYC), and client on boarding reviews
across a range of regulated industry clients.
The firm operates in a boutique, high-trust setting where consultants work closely with financial institutions, fintechs, and corporate clients to uplift AML/CTF frameworks and remediate high-risk customer populations. You'll be joining a lean team where quality of work and exposure to varied engagements is prioritised over volume-driven processing.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct end-to-end
KYC and ECDD reviews
for individual and corporate customers
Perform
risk assessments
on high-risk clients, including PEPs, complex ownership structures, and offshore entities
Review and validate customer on boarding files against AML/CTF requirements
Identify gaps in customer due diligence and escalate complex cases to senior consultants
Support remediation projects linked to legacy KYC backlogs
Liaise with client stakeholders to clarify documentation and improve on boarding standards
Contribute to ongoing improvements in AML policies, procedures, and controls
Stay up to date with
AUSTRAC guidance
and broader AML/CTF regulatory changes
About You
3 years' experience in AML, KYC, ECDD, on boarding,



or financial crime compliance
Exposure to banking, consulting, fintech, or regulated financial services environments
Strong understanding of AML/CTF requirements and customer due diligence processes
Comfortable working through complex ownership structures and enhanced risk cases
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and investigative skills
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a structured environment
Strong written communication skills for documentation and case notes
