Medical Secretary – Part - Time (4 days p/w)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, mature-minded, and dedicatedMedical Secretary to join our team!

Reporting to the Practice Manager, this is aPart - time role working 4 full days per week with no weekends required.
The service our patients experience is our number one priority; we require someone dedicated to ensuring they receive the best care possible from the moment they walk through the door.

Previous experience in private specialist consulting rooms, an understanding of Private Health Insurance, experience with Gentu software. Please note this isNOTan entry-level position .

Key responsibilities include:
General reception and administration duties
Booking patient consultations
Scheduling theatre lists and patient surgeries, including booking prosthesis and coordinating pre-operative tests
Patient invoicing,



including requesting and receipting payments
Banking and reconciliation of monies received
Processing private insurance, DVA, and Medicare claims
Operating specialist software (Gentu)
Liaising with surgeons, the Practice Manager, and other team members

Skills and experience required:
Previous experience in a specialist surgical practice
Knowledge of Gentu software preferred
Solid understanding of medical terminology
Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team
Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
Understanding of Private Health Insurance processes an advantage
Solid computer/IT skills, including use of Mac
Flexibility and a proactive attitude
