Job Description
Electrician - Light Commercial, Aged Care and Critical Infrastructure
Mechfield FM is looking for a qualified and experienced Electrician to join our growing service team, working across a portfolio of light commercial, aged care and facilities management sites throughout Melbourne.
This role would suit an electrician who enjoys service work, fault finding and dealing directly with clients rather than spending every day on large construction sites.
About the Role
You will be responsible for a mix of planned and reactive electrical works across our client portfolio, including:
Electrical fault finding and repairs
General light commercial electrical maintenance
Reactive service and breakdown works
Preventative maintenance
Lighting repairs and upgrades
Power and general electrical installations
Switchboard and electrical component repairs
Electrical support associated with HVAC and mechanical services
Minor electrical projects and upgrade works
Testing, reporting and identifying further works required
Working within operational aged care facilities and other occupied buildings
Providing clear information for service reports and quotations
A key part of the position is being able to communicate professionally with clients, facility managers, residents and other trades while completing work safely and with minimal disruption to the site.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
Holds a current Victorian A Grade Electrical License
Has experience in service,



maintenance or light commercial electrical work
Has strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Can work independently and take ownership of jobs
Produces transparent and detailed service reports
Has good communication and customer service skills
Understands the importance of working professionally within aged care and occupied facilities
Takes pride in their workmanship
Has a strong focus on safety and compliance
Is comfortable working alongside HVAC technicians and other trades
Holds a current Victorian driver's license, Working at Heights & Construction Induction card,
Experience within aged care, facilities management, HVAC Electrical, commercial maintenance or essential services environments would be highly regarded.
