Career Links delivers a diverse range of career and education events throughout the year, connecting students, educators and communities with industry, training and employment opportunities.
These programs help young people explore career pathways, develop workplace skills and make informed decisions about their future.
The Events and Marketing Officer is a newly created role responsible for supporting the successful planning, delivery and evaluation of Career Links' events, while contributing to the organisation's marketing and communications activities.
The role includes maintaining and updating the Career Links website, supporting promotional campaigns, and enhancing brand visibility and engagement across key stakeholder groups.
Working closely with the Event Coordinator and the broader Career Links team, you will play a key role in:
Supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of events, including logistics, registrations, exhibitor communications and onsite event support.
Contributing to the development and implementation of marketing and communication activities.
Maintaining and updating the Career Links website, ensuring content remains accurate, engaging and current.
Creating and scheduling content across social media and digital channels.
Developing promotional materials and event communications aligned with Career Links branding.
Building positive relationships with schools, employers, industry partners, suppliers and event participants.
Supporting event administration, data collection, reporting and evaluation activities.
Key Responsibilities
As the Events and Marketing Officer your key responsibilities will be to:
Support the Events Coordinator with event logistics, scheduling, and on-the-day delivery.
Coordinate communication with suppliers, exhibitors, and participants.
Assist with the preparation of event documentation.
Provide onsite event support and assist in event bump-in, bump-out and evaluation activities.
Contribute to the development of Career Links Marketing and Communications Plans.
Prepare and schedule content for social media, website updates and email communications.
Maintain and update the Career Links website content, including event listings, program information and general updates.
About you
You are an organised, proactive and collaborative event and marketing professional who enjoys working across events, marketing and stakeholder engagement.
You are comfortable managing multiple priorities, have excellent attention detail and take pride in delivering high-quality outcomes.
You bring:
Minimum 1 year experience in event management in a professional environment.
Minimum 1 year experience in contributing to the development and implementation of marketing and communication plans.
Experience creating or coordinating marketing and communications content across digital and print platforms.
Competencies in website and content management systems and social media channels.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
Qualifications
Qualifications and/or relevant qualified experience in event management, marketing and communications.

Current Working with Children Check
Current National Police Check
Current NSW Driver's Licence
Eligibility to work in Australia

This position requires travel across the Hunter region.
