About the role:
n
12-month contract Laboratory Technician role sits within a specialist Minerals team, supporting experimental programs focused on mineral processing and treatment. You'll assist scientists and engineers by conducting lab-based work, preparing samples, and ensuring accurate, reproducible results across a variety of projects.
n
This is a fantastic entry-level chance for a chemistry graduate or junior lab professional to build hands‐on experience in a highly technical and regulated environment.
n
This position requires an Australian Citizenship and security clearance.
n
Duties:
n
n
Conduct leaching, titrations, precipitation and sample extraction
n
Prepare and handle mineral samples with high attention to detail
n
Set up and operate laboratory equipment
n




Accurately record experimental data (GLP environment)
n
Follow strict safety and contamination control procedures
n
Support project-based experimental programs
n
Assist with pilot plant trials where required
n
n
Skills/experience:
n
n
Degree or diploma in Chemistry or related discipline
n
Some hands‐on lab experience (university or industry)
n
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
n
Exposure to wet chemistry techniques (titrations highly regarded)
n
Understanding of protected chemical handling practices
n
Willingness to work in controlled environments (incl. low-level radioactive materials)
n
Basic computer skills
(Excel/spreadsheets)
n
