Support Worker – Chinese Speaking | Chatswood

We are looking for a patient, reliable Chinese-speaking support worker to assist an adult with personal care and daily activities at home.
If you hold a relevant care or nursing qualification and have hands-on experience in disability support, aged care, personal care, hospital care or nursing, we would like to hear from you.
You do not need to have worked with exactly the same care needs or be familiar with every piece of equipment before applying.
Pay and arrangement
- ABN independent contractor; a valid ABN is required.
- Monday–Friday: $45 per hour.
- Weekend shifts and rates: to be discussed.
- Location: near Chatswood.

Essential qualifications, checks and requirements
- A relevant completed care or nursing qualification is required, such as Certificate III in Individual Support, Certificate IV in Disability Support, or a relevant nursing qualification.
Equivalent or overseas qualifications are subject to verification and suitability for this support worker role.
- A recent National Police Check satisfactory for the role is required, in addition to NDIS Worker Screening clearance.
- Patient, attentive and dependable, with relevant hands-on care experience and a willingness to learn the person's care routine.
- Able to speak Chinese and communicate in English with the family and care team,



understand care instructions and write transparent progress notes in English.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening clearance.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- Evidence of qualifications, screening checks and certificates must be verified before you commence work.
- Able to travel regularly to the Chatswood area and work under an ABN arrangement.
Helpful experience
Experience with higher care needs, complex care, hoists or transfer equipment is an advantage.

AINs, aged care workers, hospital care assistants and applicants with overseas nursing experience are welcome to apply.
What you will do
- Assist with personal care and daily living in line with the individual care plan.
- Support safe transfers, positioning and mobility, including use of hoists and transfer equipment where required.
- Observe wellbeing, report changes promptly and keep clear progress notes.
- Follow infection control procedures, respect privacy and work with the family and care team.
This role involves hands-on support for a person with higher daily care needs.
Any participant-specific instruction, training and competency checks must be completed before you undertake unfamiliar tasks independently.
All work must stay within your confirmed competency and the care plan.
