Customer Service Officer - Port Hedland
Temporary Assignment | Up to 3 Months | Local Government
McArthur is seeking an experienced Customer Service Officer for a temporary assignment of up to three months with the Town of Port Hedland.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong customer service and administration skills who is open to spending a few months in Port Hedland, gaining valuable Local Government experience while supporting a busy community facility.
Working as part of the team at the JD Hardie Youth and Community Hub, you will be a key first point of contact for the community and provide professional, friendly and efficient customer service.
The role will include:
Responding to face-to-face, telephone and online enquiries
Providing information about Council facilities, services and recreation programs




Coordinating facility bookings, calendars and payments
Receipting and reconciling payments
Managing customer requests and directing enquiries to the appropriate teams
General administration, records, correspondence and data entry
Supporting venue hire, invoicing and community activities
Liaising with internal teams, community groups, clubs and facility users
We are looking for someone who is confident dealing with a broad range of people, can remain calm when handling difficult enquiries and is organised enough to keep things moving in a busy environment.
Robust communication, problem-solving, Microsoft Office and administrative skills are important, with previous Local Government or community services experience highly regarded.
You will also need a current Driver's Licence and National Police Clearance.
