Shawn Mendis Lawyers is seeking a Generalist Lawyer with 2 to 5 years of post-admission experience to join our growing Pakenham office.

We are primarily looking for a lawyer with experience in:

Civil disputes and civil litigation
n
n
You will manage your own files, work directly with clients and receive support from the Principal Solicitor and our legal team.
n
Shawn Mendis Lawyers works closely with our partner firm, Mendis & Gibson Lawyers. Both firms work as one team by sharing legal knowledge, experience and resources.
n
About the Role
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Managing matters from initial instructions to completion
n
Providing clear and practical legal advice
n
Drafting applications, affidavits, submissions, consent orders and other court documents
n
Appearing in courts and tribunals
n
Attending mediations, conferences and settlement negotiations
n
Conducting legal research and preparing matters for hearings
n
Managing client relationships and court deadlines
n
Working collaboratively with both legal teams
n
n
About You
n
We are looking for someone who has:
n
n
Admission as an Australian legal practitioner
n
A current Victorian practising certificate or eligibility to obtain one
n
2 to 5 years of post-admission experience
n




Experience in one or more of our main legal areas
n
Confidence handling court appearances, court drafting and mediations
n
The ability to manage files with limited supervision
n
Robust communication, drafting and time management skills
n
