The Administration & Customer Service Officer provides high-quality administrative support and exceptional customer service to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of The Flooring Shop.
This role supports sales, scheduling, supplier coordination, and customer communication, contributing directly to the company's professional image and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
Greet and assist customers in person, over the phone, and via email in a friendly, professional manner
Provide accurate product information, pricing, and availability
Schedule appointments with customers and sales team
Support customers through the quotation, order, and installation process
Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence
Prepare and issue quotes, invoices, and receipts using the business's software systems
Maintain accurate and organised records of sales, inventory, and supplier orders
Schedule installations and liaise with installers, ensuring smooth workflow and communication




Update and maintain the customer and supplier database (CRM system)
Follow up on customer quotes and potential leads to convert sales
About you
Previous experience in administration and/or customer service roles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Suite
Confidence working with point-of-sale or quoting software
Ability to multitask and prioritise in a technically detailed setting
Professional, positive, and proactive 'can do' attitude
Experience in the flooring, construction, or home improvement industry (desirable)
Familiarity with Xero, or similar accounting software (desirable)
Basic knowledge of social media and marketing tools (desirable)
