The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Diesel Fitter with a strong commitment to safety and maintaining heavy mining equipment? Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Diesel Fitters to join our high-performing team at the Olive Downs Complex in Queensland's Bowen Basin.
n
As a key member of the Olive Downs maintenance team, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing and servicing a range of mobile plant equipment, supporting safe, reliable and efficient mining operations.

As a Diesel Fitter, you will:
n
n
Safely maintain, repair and service a variety of mobile plant equipment in line with Thiess and industry standards.
n
Perform diagnostics, fault finding, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and component change-outs.
n
Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to deliver high-quality maintenance outcomes.
n
Follow work instructions and complete all required documentation to a high standard.
n
Maintain good housekeeping standards to support a safe and efficient work environment.
n
Demonstrate a strong commitment to risk management, safe work practices and continuous improvement.

About you
n
To be successful in this role you are required to have:
n
n
Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting or relevant equivalent qualification.
n
Post-trade experience within the mining or heavy earthmoving industry.
n
Experience in general maintenance, breakdowns, component change-outs and servicing of heavy earthmoving equipment.
n
Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
n
Current Driver Licence.
n
Current Standard 11 is desirable.
n
Strong work ethic with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a maintenance team.
n
Demonstrated commitment to a positive safety culture.
n
