We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join the MG Motor Australia on a 4-month fixed-term contract to provide parental leave cover.
n
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support key day-to-day finance activities across month-end, general ledger reconciliations, financial reporting and AP/AR. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can quickly become familiar with the business, work independently and deliver accurate results within tight reporting deadlines.

What you will be doing

Support accounts payable and receivable activities, including invoice processing, payments, reconciliations and credit control.
n
Prepare and post journals and complete general ledger reconciliations.
n




Support month-end and year-end close activities and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
n
Assist with financial analysis and submission of financial information to headquarters.
n
Support preparation of consolidated financial statements and group elimination journals.
n
Assist with internal and external audit requirements and supporting documentation.
n
Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies and outstanding items.
n
Support finance process improvements and maintain accurate process documentation.
n

What we are looking for
n
n
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
n
3-5 years' relevant accounting experience in commercial finance and/or qualified practice.
n
Strong experience in month-end, journals, reconciliations and financial reporting, with exposure to AP/AR.
n
CPA qualification is highly regarded.
n
SAP/ERP and strong Excel skills desirable.
n
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines independently.
n
Collaborative communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
