The Tasting Deck Forestway is a café located in Terrey Hills, operating seven days a week and offering fresh, quality food in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

Our café reflects our passion for valuable food and quality ingredients, with a focus on providing customers with fresh, delicious meals and a positive dining experience.

We are committed to maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and customer service, supported by a friendly and dedicated team.

We are currently looking for a qualified Cook for a full-time position.

Responsibilities and Duties :
Inspect ingredients and food products to ensure freshness, quality and suitability for preparation.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes, menu requirements and established standards.
Operate and regulate ovens, grills, cooktops and other cooking equipment to ensure food is cooked correctly.
Season food during preparation and cooking, and monitor taste, texture and consistency.
Portion and plate meals, adding sauces, garnishes and accompaniments to maintain presentation standards.




Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements and customer needs where required.
Store food and ingredients appropriately, including in temperature-controlled facilities, and follow stock rotation procedures.
Assist with menu preparation, estimating food requirements and monitoring ingredient stock levels as required.
Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and comply with food safety, sanitation and workplace health and safety requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:
Relevant Qualifications.
At least one or two years previous experience in similar roles.
Strong food preparation and cooking skills with good attention to quality and presentation.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a kitchen team.
Good organisational, time-management and communication skills.
