Life Skill Disability Support is urgently seeking passionate, reliable and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our growing team across the Moreton Bay region.

About the Role
n
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support that reflects each participant's individual needs, preferences, strengths and goals.
n
Depending on the participant and shift, your responsibilities may include:
n
n
Supporting participants with daily living activities
n
Assisting participants to access the community and attend appointments
n
Encouraging independence, choice and skill development
n
Supporting social participation and meaningful activities
n
Providing personal care and household assistance where required
n
Following participant support plans, risk-management strategies and individual routines
n
Completing accurate progress notes and other required documentation
n
Communicating effectively with participants, families and the broader support team
n
Responding calmly and professionally to changing or unexpected situations
n
Maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and safeguarding participant rights
n
n

Are willing to learn and participate in ongoing training
n
Can complete clear, accurate and timely documentation
n
Hold a current driver's licence and have access to a reliable, appropriately insured vehicle
n

Previous disability support experience and relevant qualifications are highly regarded; however, they are not essential for the right applicant. Training, guidance and participant-specific orientation can be provided to suitable candidates.
n
Mandatory Requirements
n
Successful applicants must hold, or be willing and able to promptly obtain:
n
n
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
n
Working with Children Check/Blue Card, where required
n
Current First Aid and CPR certification
n
NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate
n
Relevant evidence of identity and working rights
n
Any additional screening, training or competency requirements relevant to the participants they will support
n
n
Employment and commencement will be subject to satisfactory screening, reference checks and completion of LSAS onboarding requirements.
n
Availability across a range of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and public holidays, is highly regarded. Please clearly outline your availability in your application.
