Stratacore Drilling | Central Coast NSW | Full-Time
Stratacore Drilling is looking for an experienced and capable mechanic to join our team on the Central Coast.
We operate a diverse fleet of drilling rigs, trucks, light vehicles, trailers and support equipment.
This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety and the opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day maintenance and repairs across the fleet.
We are looking for someone who can be given the priorities for the day, work through them independently and make sure the job is done properly.
The Role
Servicing and repairs on drilling rigs, trucks, light vehicles and plant
Mechanical fault finding and repairs
Auto electrical diagnosis and repairs
Trailer repairs, wheel bearings, brakes and running gear
Gearbox, clutch and driveline repairs
Hydraulic fault finding and repairs
Preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
Light fabrication and welding
Diagnosing equipment faults and finding practical solutions
Preparing vehicles and equipment for upcoming projects
Occasional field and breakdown repairs
The work is varied.
One day you may be servicing vehicles and repairing a trailer, and the next you could be fault finding on a drill rig, repairing an electrical issue or completing a larger mechanical repair.
What We Are Looking For
Above all, we want someone we can trust to work independently and do the job properly.
You will ideally be:
Trade-qualified as a mechanic, diesel mechanic or similar
Experienced working across a variety of vehicles and equipment
Confident with mechanical fault finding
Capable of light welding and fabrication




Practical and able to solve problems without needing constant direction
Organised and able to work through priorities efficiently
Someone who takes pride in their work
Reliable and easy to work with
Experience with drilling equipment would be an advantage but is not essential.
Experience with civil plant, earthmoving equipment, trucks, agricultural machinery, mining equipment or similar machinery would transfer well into the role.
