Surgical Dental Assistant – Specialist Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Oral Facial and Implant Surgery – Wollongong NSW
Key responsibilities
Surgical chairside assisting
Assisting with dental implant surgery
Wisdom tooth and complex dental extractions
Bone grafting and sinus grafting procedures
Exposure and bonding of impacted teeth
Oral pathology and biopsy procedures
Procedures performed under local anaesthesia and sedation
Preparation of surgical instruments, equipment and operating areas
Instrument sterilisation and infection control
Pre-operative and post-operative patient care
A small amount of admin
About you
Experienced in dental assisting
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Calm, qualified and confident in a surgical environment
Caring and reassuring with patients
Reliable and punctual




Able to anticipate the needs of the surgeon during procedures
Committed to an exceptionally high standard of cross-infection control
Meticulous with sterilisation and surgical preparation
Comfortable working within a specialist clinical team
Willing to learn advanced surgical techniques and equipment
Competitive remuneration
No travel between practices during the working day
Exposure to advanced oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures
